Choosing a Niche You Won’t Abandon

The classic beginner mistake is picking a niche off a “most profitable niches” list and burning out in six weeks writing about something you don't care about. The commission rate doesn't matter if you quit before anyone finds your content.

A workable niche sits at the overlap of three things: you can talk about it for a year without hating it, real people actively search for help with it, and products in it actually pay affiliates. Two out of three isn't enough. Passion with no products makes a hobby blog; products with no interest makes a ghost site.

Specific beats broad. “Fitness” is an ocean full of established sites. “Home gym setups for small apartments” is a pond you can matter in. You can always widen later once something is working — narrowing after you've scattered is much harder.

Takeaway: pick the niche you'd still be writing about in month eight, then confirm people search it and products pay in it. In that order.
