Why the Rest of the Stack Builds on This
Every level above this one exists because someone took a foundation model and did something useful with it for a specific audience. Understanding that relationship is the whole point of this course.
Level 2, General AI Assistants, takes a foundation model and wraps it in a chat interface anyone can use, no code required. That's ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini as products.
Level 3, Specialized AI Tools, takes that same kind of foundation model and tunes or wraps it for one specific job, image generation, coding, SEO, instead of general conversation.
Level 4, AI Agents & Automation, takes a Level 2 assistant and gives it the ability to call Level 3 tools on its own, in sequence, toward a goal.
Level 5, Integrated Systems, chains multiple pieces from Levels 2 through 4 into one working pipeline.
Notice the pattern: nothing above Level 1 replaces it, everything above it depends on it. You'll carry this same logic through the rest of this course, each level doesn't compete with the one below, it builds on it. By the time you finish Level 5, you'll be able to look at any AI product or headline and immediately place it somewhere on this stack, which is worth more than memorizing any single tool's name.
